NRT-funded Trainees
Each year, 3 or 4 exceptional U.S. Ph.D. students will be selected for full NRT support, which includes:
- One or two years of stipend, tuition, and health benefits
- Travel funding for a national scientific conference
- Full participation in all NRT Q-STAR research and training components
- Continued financial support from their advisor or department after NRT funding concludes
Non-funded Trainees
An additional 4 to 6 students may be invited to join the program without NSF funding. This includes:
- International students, who may fully participate but are ineligible for NSF financial support
- Domestic students interested in specific training components
These participants may receive:
- Conference travel support
- Partial departmental funding, such as one semester of tuition/stipend (as available)
- Ongoing support from their advisor or graduate program
Additional Opportunities
Participation is not limited to funded trainees. FIU graduate students working in quantum science, data science, or quantum computing are encouraged to join:
- Core Scientific/Technical Courses
- Convergence/Interdisciplinary Courses
- Data & Computational Tools
